Uses

Traditionally used to help relieve bloating, flatulence, colic, and minor gastrointestinal discomfort. Evidence for infantile colic remains limited.

Do not use if

Avoid in patients with hypersensitivity to caraway, dill, or related plants. Use caution in individuals requiring sodium restriction.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. Allergic reactions are uncommon. Excessive sodium bicarbonate intake may contribute to alkalosis or electrolyte disturbances.

How it works
