Dose drugs helps you look up medicines, prices and alternatives in Egypt. We built it to respect your privacy — there are no accounts, and we collect as little as possible.
You can search and browse without signing in — we don't ask for your name, phone number or any personal details. Like any website, our servers record basic technical data (such as your IP address and the pages requested, including what you type into search) to run the service and keep it secure; we don't use it to identify you.
To work offline and load quickly, the app saves a copy of the drug catalogue and your preferences (theme, language, update settings) in your browser's storage on your device. These stay on your device, and you can clear them anytime from the Downloads screen or your browser settings. The one exception is price alerts in the Android app, described next.
When you scan a barcode, the camera runs only on your device to read the code. The camera feed and images are never uploaded or stored — only the decoded barcode number is used to look up the medicine.
Saved medicines stay on your device. In the Android app, if you turn on price alerts, the app sends us your list of saved medicines, a notification token for your device, your language and your alert settings, linked to a random ID created on your device (not your name or phone number), so we can tell you when their prices change. Alerts are delivered through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Turning price alerts off removes your saved list from our server; to have the rest deleted, contact us.
Drug photos are served from our own image host. We don't run advertising networks, and we never sell your data. The only third-party services involved are Google Analytics on the website and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for app alerts, both described here.
The website uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets Google Analytics cookies and sends Google the pages you open (including search words that appear in a page's address), your browser and device type, and an approximate location. We don't use it for advertising or to identify you. You can block it with your browser's tracking protection or Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). When a search finds nothing, the website also sends Google that search, shortened and with every number removed, so we can teach the search new phrasings. The Android app does not include Google Analytics.
This app provides general medicine information and isn't directed at children. It isn't a substitute for professional or parental guidance.
Dose is an independent software tool and drug index aggregator compiled for informational reference from publicly available market circulars and registries in Egypt. Dose is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or an official representative of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), the Ministry of Health, or any government agency. All trademarks, drug trade names, and manufacturer logos belong to their respective holders and are referenced purely for informational identification.

You can use Dose Drugs inside AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude, which connect to our public MCP server at drugs.doseshq.com/mcp. There is no account and no sign-in. When the assistant looks something up, its provider's servers send us only that request: a medicine name, id or barcode, a condition, a date or direction for price changes, or a child's weight for the dose calculator. We never receive your name, your conversation or your chat history. Our server keeps the usual short-lived access logs (the request and the provider's IP address) for security and rate limiting, and stores nothing else. What you type into the assistant is handled by its provider under their own privacy policy.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the date above when we do, so please check back occasionally.
