Uses
Used for edema associated with heart failure, hypertension, hyperaldosteronism, and other conditions involving fluid retention.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in anuria, significant renal impairment, hyperkalemia, Addison's disease, and hypersensitivity.
Side effects
Hyperkalemia, gynecomastia, menstrual irregularities, dizziness, and gastrointestinal upset may occur.
Warnings
Monitor potassium and renal function regularly. Avoid excessive potassium supplementation.
