Uses
Used for treatment of trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginosis caused by susceptible organisms.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to secnidazole or other nitroimidazoles and in patients with Cockayne syndrome.
Side effects
Common effects include nausea, headache, altered taste, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vaginal yeast infection.
Warnings
Use only for confirmed or strongly suspected infections. Vaginal candidiasis may occur during treatment.

Secnidazole is a nitroimidazole antimicrobial that disrupts DNA synthesis in susceptible microorganisms.
Storage
Store at 20–25°C; short excursions are permitted.
