Uses

Used topically to manage and improve the appearance of scars, including hypertrophic and keloid scars, as well as post-surgical and post-traumatic scars. Helps flatten, soften, and reduce discoloration of scar tissue over time.

Do not use if

Avoid use on open wounds or broken skin. Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation is a contraindication.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. Mild transient skin irritation, redness, or itching at the application site may occasionally occur. Allergic contact dermatitis is rare.

Warnings

For external use only. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Not intended to replace medical or surgical scar management in severe cases.

How it works

Cyclopentasiloxane acts as a carrier and skin-conditioning silicone that forms a thin occlusive film over the scar. Dimethicone (polydimethylsiloxane) provides hydration and maintains a moist microenvironment that modulates fibroblast activity, reducing abnormal collagen synthesis and improving scar maturation.
