Uses

This antioxidant supplement combines lactoferrin with selenium, vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc to support immune function and reduce oxidative stress. It is used as an adjunct in conditions requiring immune support and antioxidant defense.

Do not use if

No absolute contraindications at recommended doses. Should be used with caution in patients with hemochromatosis or iron overload, as lactoferrin modulates iron availability.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. High-dose vitamin C may cause gastrointestinal upset. Excessive zinc intake can cause nausea and interfere with copper absorption. Selenium toxicity (selenosis) can occur with chronic high doses.

Warnings

Do not exceed recommended doses. Patients with renal insufficiency should use mineral-containing supplements with caution due to risk of accumulation.

How it works

Lactoferrin is an iron-binding glycoprotein with antimicrobial and immunomodulatory properties. Zinc, selenium, and vitamins C and E function as essential cofactors in antioxidant enzyme systems, reducing reactive oxygen species and supporting cellular immunity.
