Used for pain and inflammatory conditions such as osteoarthritis. Withdrawn from many markets because of cardiovascular safety concerns.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to rofecoxib or sulfonamides and certain cardiovascular conditions.

May cause edema, hypertension, gastrointestinal symptoms, and serious cardiovascular events.

Associated with increased cardiovascular risk and no longer marketed in many countries.

Selective COX-2 inhibitor with anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.

Store at room temperature.
