Uses
Used with other immunosuppressive agents for prevention of organ rejection in kidney transplant recipients.
Do not use if
Hypersensitivity to mycophenolate sodium, mycophenolic acid, mycophenolate mofetil, or any component.
Side effects
May cause infections, gastrointestinal symptoms, blood cell abnormalities, and increased risk of certain malignancies.
Warnings
Associated with embryo-fetal toxicity, serious infections, and increased risk of malignancies. Effective contraception may be required.
How it works
An immunosuppressant that reversibly inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, reducing T- and B-lymphocyte proliferation.
