Uses

Third-generation cephalosporin used for serious susceptible bacterial infections including respiratory, urinary, skin, and bloodstream infections.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefotaxime or cephalosporins.

Injection-site reactions, rash, diarrhea, and hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

Use cautiously in patients with a history of penicillin or beta-lactam allergy.

Beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Store vials as directed and protect from excessive heat.
