Uses
Used for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and irritability associated with autism.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to risperidone, paliperidone, or formulation components.
Side effects
Somnolence, weight gain, dizziness, extrapyramidal symptoms, and increased prolactin levels may occur.
Warnings
Not approved for dementia-related psychosis due to increased mortality risk in elderly patients.
