Uses
This combination of vitamin C, vitamin D, and zinc is used as a nutritional supplement to support immune function, bone health, and antioxidant defence. It may help address or prevent deficiencies of these micronutrients.
Do not use if
Avoid in patients with hypercalcaemia, nephrolithiasis, or haemochromatosis. Vitamin D supplementation is contraindicated in cases of hypervitaminosis D. Keep iron-containing products out of reach of children to prevent accidental overdose.
Side effects
Generally well tolerated at recommended doses. High-dose vitamin C may cause gastrointestinal upset or kidney stones. Excessive vitamin D can lead to hypercalcaemia. High zinc intake may cause nausea, vomiting, and copper deficiency with prolonged use.
Warnings
Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6; keep all supplements out of reach of children. Patients with renal impairment should consult a physician before use.
