Uses
Treatment of essential hypertension when combination therapy is appropriate.
Do not use if
Pregnancy, anuria, hypersensitivity, or concomitant use with certain RAAS blockers in specific patients.
Side effects
Dizziness, diarrhea, hypotension, electrolyte disturbances, or fatigue.
Warnings
Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes.
How it works
Aliskiren inhibits renin while hydrochlorothiazide increases urinary sodium and water excretion.
