Uses

Used to improve kidney function in adults with hepatorenal syndrome associated with rapid decline in renal function.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypoxia, worsening respiratory symptoms, or ongoing ischemic disease.

Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, shortness of breath, and respiratory complications may occur.

Can cause serious or fatal respiratory failure and ischemic events. Close monitoring is required.

Synthetic vasopressin analog acting mainly on V1 receptors, producing vasoconstriction and improving renal perfusion in hepatorenal syndrome.

Store refrigerated at 2–8°C and protect from light.
