Uses

Used as replacement therapy for hypothyroidism and for TSH suppression in selected thyroid disorders.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in uncorrected adrenal insufficiency and hypersensitivity to formulation components.

Excess dosing may cause palpitations, nervousness, weight loss, sweating, insomnia, and tremor.

Not indicated for weight loss in euthyroid patients. Excessive doses may cause serious cardiovascular effects.

Synthetic thyroxine (T4) that replaces deficient thyroid hormone and restores normal metabolic activity.

Store at 20–25°C protected from moisture and light.
