Uses

This combination of proteolytic enzymes and a bioflavonoid is used as an adjunctive anti-inflammatory agent for conditions such as sports injuries, post-surgical swelling, sprains, and inflammatory conditions of soft tissues.

Do not use if

Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to bromelain, trypsin, or any component. Avoid before surgery due to antiplatelet effects. Use with caution in patients on anticoagulant therapy.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, or stomach upset may occur. Allergic reactions are possible, especially in individuals with pineapple or papaya allergy.

Warnings

Not recommended in patients with blood clotting disorders or those taking anticoagulants/antiplatelets without medical supervision. Avoid in pregnancy due to limited safety data.

How it works

Bromelain and trypsin are proteolytic enzymes that reduce edema and inflammation by degrading bradykinin and fibrin. Rutoside (rutin) is a bioflavonoid that decreases capillary permeability and has antioxidant properties. L-leucine serves as a stabilizing excipient and may support tissue repair.
