Uses

Used for treatment-resistant schizophrenia and for reducing recurrent suicidal behavior in schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to clozapine or history of clozapine-induced agranulocytosis.

Side effects

May cause sedation, dizziness, weight gain, constipation, hypersalivation, and tachycardia. Serious adverse effects include agranulocytosis and myocarditis.

Warnings

Regular blood monitoring is required due to the risk of severe neutropenia.
