Uses

Indicated for severe hypoglycemia and as a diagnostic aid in selected procedures.

Do not use if

Pheochromocytoma, insulinoma, or hypersensitivity to glucagon.

May cause nausea, vomiting, headache, or injection-site reactions.

Patients should consume carbohydrates once recovered from hypoglycemia.

Raises blood glucose by stimulating hepatic glycogen breakdown and glucose release.

Store according to labeling and protect from excessive heat.
