Uses
Used as add-on maintenance treatment for severe eosinophilic asthma. It may reduce asthma exacerbations and improve symptom control.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to benralizumab or its excipients.
Side effects
May cause headache, injection-site reactions, fever, or pharyngitis.
Warnings
Not for treatment of acute asthma attacks. Patients should remain under specialist supervision.
How it works
A monoclonal antibody targeting the IL-5 receptor alpha on eosinophils, leading to eosinophil depletion.
Storage
Store refrigerated at 2–8°C. Do not freeze.
