Uses
Used for inflammatory, allergic, autoimmune, rheumatic, dermatologic, and certain endocrine disorders requiring corticosteroid therapy.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to methylprednisolone and in systemic fungal infections.
Side effects
May cause hyperglycemia, fluid retention, hypertension, mood changes, weight gain, and increased infection risk.
Warnings
Long-term use may cause adrenal suppression, osteoporosis, and increased susceptibility to infection.
