Uses

Used for clinically significant hypervolemic or euvolemic hyponatremia, including SIADH and certain heart failure patients.

Do not use if

Hypovolemic hyponatremia, inability to sense thirst, anuria, strong CYP3A inhibitor use, or hypersensitivity.

Thirst, dry mouth, weakness, constipation, frequent urination, and hyperglycemia may occur.

Initiation requires close sodium monitoring to avoid overly rapid correction. Risk of liver injury exists with certain uses.

Selective vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist that promotes free water excretion without major electrolyte loss.

Store at 15–30°C.
