Uses
Used to reduce toxicity of folate antagonist therapy and in selected chemotherapy regimens. Also used in folate deficiency states.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to folinic acid preparations. Not suitable for anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency alone.
Side effects
May cause nausea, vomiting, rash, fever, or hypersensitivity reactions.
Warnings
Use under medical supervision in oncology settings. Monitor hematologic response when indicated.
