Uses

Used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B infection in adults and children with evidence of active viral replication and liver disease activity.

Do not use if

No specific absolute contraindications are generally listed other than hypersensitivity to the drug or its components.

Headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and elevated liver enzymes may occur.

Severe hepatitis flare may occur after discontinuation. Monitor for lactic acidosis and liver function abnormalities.

Nucleoside analogue antiviral that inhibits hepatitis B virus DNA polymerase and viral replication.

Store at room temperature in a dry place.
