Uses

Antipsychotic used for schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. Injectable forms may be used for acute agitation.

Do not use if

CNS depression, coma, circulatory collapse, or hypersensitivity.

Sedation, extrapyramidal symptoms, dizziness, and weight gain may occur.

Monitor for movement disorders, sedation, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome.

Typical antipsychotic that primarily blocks dopamine receptors.
