Uses

Short-term intravenous inotropic support in cardiac decompensation and acute heart failure states.

Do not use if

Idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis and hypersensitivity to dobutamine.

Increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, arrhythmias, and ventricular ectopic beats may occur.

Requires close monitoring of heart rate, rhythm, and blood pressure during infusion.

Direct beta-adrenergic agonist with strong positive inotropic effects on the heart.

Store according to product labeling and protect infusion solutions as directed.
