Uses
Used for the treatment of hypertension when combination therapy is appropriate.
Do not use if
History of ACE inhibitor–related angioedema, anuria, or hypersensitivity to sulfonamides.
Side effects
Dizziness, cough, hypotension, electrolyte disturbances, or increased urination may occur.
Warnings
Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes.
How it works
Captopril inhibits ACE while hydrochlorothiazide promotes diuresis to lower blood pressure.
