Uses

Used in the management of acute bleeding from gastrointestinal varices and certain endocrine disorders.

Do not use if

Hypersensitivity to somatostatin or formulation components.

Nausea, abdominal pain, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, and flushing may occur.

Monitor glucose levels and cardiovascular status during therapy.

Inhibits secretion of multiple hormones and reduces splanchnic blood flow.

Store according to product labeling.
