Uses
Used as an intravenous lipid emulsion to provide calories and essential fatty acids in parenteral nutrition.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in severe disorders of lipid metabolism and hypersensitivity to soybean, egg, or formulation components.
Side effects
May cause fever, nausea, hypertriglyceridemia, infusion reactions, or fat overload syndrome.
Warnings
Monitor triglycerides, liver function, and signs of fat overload during therapy.
