Uses
This antiseptic mouth wash combination is used for oral hygiene, reduction of dental plaque, control of oral bacteria, relief of minor oral soreness, and freshening breath. It is indicated as an adjunct to mechanical dental cleaning.
Do not use if
Avoid swallowing. Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component. Not for use in children under 6 years without medical advice. Avoid contact with eyes.
Side effects
May cause temporary taste alteration, oral mucosal irritation, or tooth staining with prolonged use of chlorhexidine-containing formulations. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Warnings
For oral rinsing only; do not swallow. Keep out of reach of children. If irritation or allergic reaction develops, discontinue use. Not a substitute for professional dental care.
How it works
Chlorhexidine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic disrupting bacterial cell membranes. Thymol and eugenol provide antiseptic and anti-inflammatory activity. Menthol and methyl salicylate provide analgesic and cooling effects. Methyl hydroxybenzoate acts as a preservative.
