Uses

Used in combination with other antiviral agents for chronic hepatitis C and certain severe viral infections in selected patients.

Do not use if

Contraindicated during pregnancy and in patients with hypersensitivity to ribavirin. Pregnancy must be avoided during and after treatment.

Hemolytic anemia, fatigue, headache, nausea, insomnia, and rash may occur.

May cause severe fetal harm and hemolytic anemia. Not recommended as monotherapy for hepatitis C.

Nucleoside analogue antiviral that interferes with viral replication.

Store at room temperature in a dry place.
