Uses

This combination is used as an antiemetic, particularly for motion sickness, nausea, and vomiting. Chlorphenoxamine provides antihistaminic and anticholinergic antiemetic action, chlorotheophylline counters drowsiness, and caffeine adds mild CNS stimulation.

Do not use if

Avoid in patients with glaucoma, urinary retention, prostatic hypertrophy, severe cardiac arrhythmias, and in those with hypersensitivity to any component.

Side effects

Possible effects include dry mouth, blurred vision, urinary retention, constipation from the anticholinergic component, mild CNS stimulation or insomnia from caffeine and theophylline, and palpitations.

Warnings

Use with caution in elderly patients, those with cardiovascular disease, and patients taking other CNS-active or anticholinergic agents. Avoid in patients performing tasks requiring full alertness.

How it works
