Uses
Used for psychotic disorders, Tourette syndrome, and certain severe behavioral disturbances.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in Parkinson's disease, severe CNS depression, coma, and hypersensitivity.
Side effects
May cause extrapyramidal symptoms, sedation, QT prolongation, hypotension, and tardive dyskinesia.
Warnings
Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis have an increased risk of death when treated with antipsychotics.
