Uses
Indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia and nutritional deficiencies in folic acid, B12, B6, vitamin C, and vitamin D3. Liposomal iron formulation improves gastrointestinal tolerability and absorption.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, or other iron-overload disorders. Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to any component. Caution in patients with a history of calcium oxalate kidney stones.
Side effects
Liposomal iron is generally better tolerated than conventional iron salts, with reduced nausea, constipation, and dark stools. High-dose vitamin C may cause diarrhea. Vitamin D3 excess can cause hypercalcemia.
Warnings
Avoid excessive doses of any individual vitamin component. Monitor serum ferritin and iron levels periodically during treatment. Vitamin D supplementation should consider baseline serum levels and sun exposure.
How it works
Liposomal encapsulation of iron allows absorption via endocytosis in intestinal cells, bypassing the conventional DMT-1 transporter pathway and reducing GI side effects. Folic acid and B12 support erythropoiesis and DNA synthesis; B6 supports heme formation; vitamin C enhances non-heme iron absorption; vitamin D3 modulates immune function and bone mineralization.
Storage
Store at room temperature (15–25°C), away from moisture and light. Keep in original sealed packaging.
