Uses

Used for the treatment of schizophrenia and, in some settings, short-term management of severe anxiety.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to phenothiazines and severe CNS depression.

May cause drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, extrapyramidal symptoms, and orthostatic hypotension.

Monitor for tardive dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and extrapyramidal reactions.

A typical antipsychotic that blocks dopamine receptors in the central nervous system.

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture.
