Uses

Used as monotherapy or adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures in adults and children.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to oxcarbazepine, eslicarbazepine, or formulation components.

Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, diplopia, and hyponatremia may occur.

Monitor sodium levels and watch for serious skin reactions or suicidal ideation.

Antiepileptic whose active metabolite blocks voltage-sensitive sodium channels and stabilizes neuronal membranes.

Store at room temperature.
