Uses
Used for pulmonary arterial hypertension to delay disease progression and reduce hospitalization risk.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to selexipag and with concomitant use of strong CYP2C8 inhibitors.
Side effects
May cause headache, diarrhea, jaw pain, nausea, flushing, myalgia, and vomiting.
Warnings
Pulmonary edema may occur in patients with pulmonary veno-occlusive disease.
How it works
Selexipag is a selective prostacyclin IP receptor agonist that promotes vasodilation and inhibits vascular remodeling.
