Uses
Used for the management of anxiety disorders and short-term relief of anxiety symptoms, particularly generalized anxiety disorder.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to buspirone and in combination with MAO inhibitors or within the recommended washout period.
Side effects
Common adverse effects include dizziness, nausea, headache, nervousness, lightheadedness, and excitement.
Warnings
Avoid concomitant use with MAO inhibitors due to risk of hypertension or serotonin-related reactions. Therapeutic effect may take several weeks.
