Uses

Used as a topical skin protectant to temporarily relieve and protect chafed, chapped, or cracked skin. Helps prevent and protect against the drying effects of wind and cold weather. Also used as an emollient and barrier agent.

Do not use if

Do not use on deep or puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns. For external use only.

Side effects

Generally well tolerated. Discontinue use and consult a physician if the condition worsens or symptoms persist beyond 7 days or recur within a few days of clearing.

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on serious wounds or burns without medical advice.

How it works

Dimethicone is a silicone polymer that forms a water-repellent, protective film on the skin surface. It acts as a barrier against moisture loss (transepidermal water loss) and external irritants without being significantly absorbed systemically.

Storage

Store at room temperature. Do not use if protective quality seal is broken.
