Uses
Used for treatment of essential hypertension and reduction of cardiovascular risk in stable coronary artery disease.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with ACE inhibitor-associated angioedema, hereditary angioedema, or hypersensitivity.
Side effects
May cause cough, dizziness, hypotension, hyperkalemia, and renal impairment.
Warnings
Can cause fetal harm during pregnancy. Monitor renal function and serum potassium.
How it works
Perindopril is an ACE inhibitor that reduces formation of angiotensin II and lowers blood pressure.
