Uses
Used to reduce the duration of neutropenia and infection risk in patients receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy and other approved indications.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with a history of serious allergic reactions to filgrastim or pegfilgrastim products.
Side effects
May cause bone pain, fever, headache, leukocytosis, and injection-site reactions.
Warnings
Monitor for splenic enlargement, splenic rupture, respiratory complications, and severe allergic reactions.
How it works
Filgrastim is a recombinant granulocyte colony-stimulating factor that stimulates neutrophil production.
Storage
Store refrigerated at 2–8°C. Protect from light and do not freeze.
