Uses

Previously used for obesity management as an appetite suppressant. It has been withdrawn or restricted in many countries because of cardiovascular safety concerns.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension, and concurrent use of certain serotonergic or monoamine-modifying drugs.

Side effects

May cause increased blood pressure, tachycardia, insomnia, dry mouth, headache, and constipation.
