Used for treatment and prevention of gout flares and for familial Mediterranean fever.

Do not use if

Avoid combination with strong CYP3A4 or P-gp inhibitors in patients with significant renal or hepatic impairment.

Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and gastrointestinal upset are common.

Overdose can be fatal. Monitor for blood disorders, neuromuscular toxicity, and drug interactions.

Anti-inflammatory alkaloid that interferes with inflammatory cell activity and inflammasome signaling.

Store at room temperature away from moisture.
