Uses

Used for edema associated with heart failure, liver disease, renal disease, and for the treatment of hypertension.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in anuria and in patients with hypersensitivity to furosemide.

Dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, hypotension, and increased urination may occur.

Excessive diuresis can lead to severe fluid and electrolyte depletion. Close monitoring is required.

Loop diuretic that inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in the loop of Henle, increasing urine output.

Store at 20–25°C.
