Uses

Artificial sweetener used as a sugar substitute in foods, beverages, and pharmaceutical products.

Do not use if

Phenylketonuria (PKU) due to phenylalanine content or hypersensitivity.

Generally well tolerated. Some individuals may experience headache or sensitivity reactions.

Patients with phenylketonuria should avoid products containing aspartame.

Low-calorie sweetener metabolized into phenylalanine, aspartic acid, and methanol in small amounts.

Store in a cool, dry place.
