Uses
Used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in bronchial asthma, severe COPD, sinus bradycardia, certain heart blocks, cardiac failure, cardiogenic shock, or hypersensitivity.
Side effects
May cause transient eye burning, stinging, blepharoconjunctivitis, reduced heart rate, or lowered blood pressure.
Warnings
Systemic beta-blocker effects may occur after ocular use. Monitor patients with respiratory or cardiovascular disease.
How it works
A nonselective beta-adrenergic blocker that decreases aqueous humor production and lowers intraocular pressure.
Storage
Store at controlled room temperature and keep the bottle tightly closed.
