Uses
Topical analgesic and mild anti-inflammatory gel used for temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, rheumatic complaints, and localized pain associated with sports injuries or backache.
Do not use if
For external use only. Do not apply to broken or inflamed skin, open wounds, or the facial area. Avoid contact with eyes. Not recommended in children under 2 years. Avoid in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component.
Side effects
May cause local skin irritation, redness, or burning sensation. Allergic contact dermatitis is possible with eucalyptus or eugenol. Avoid applying to sensitive facial areas or mucous membranes.
Warnings
For external use only. Avoid tight bandages over treated areas. Do not use near heat or open flame. Wash hands after application. Keep out of reach of children.
How it works
Peppermint oil and camphor act as counter-irritants producing cooling and analgesic effects via modulation of thermoreceptors (TRPM8) and pain receptors. Eugenol has local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties. Eucalyptus oil contributes analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects and acts as a skin penetration enhancer.
