Uses

Used for susceptible streptococcal infections, rheumatic fever prophylaxis, syphilis, and other penicillin-sensitive bacterial infections.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillins or formulation components.

May cause injection-site pain, rash, allergic reactions, nausea, and fever. Severe hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

Monitor for anaphylaxis and severe allergic reactions. Not effective against penicillin-resistant organisms.

A long-acting penicillin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.

Store according to manufacturer instructions, protected from excessive heat.
