Uses

Used for treatment of chronic iron overload due to repeated blood transfusions and selected non-transfusion-dependent thalassemia patients.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, certain high-risk hematologic conditions, and hypersensitivity to deferasirox.

Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, and increased serum creatinine may occur.

May cause renal failure, hepatic failure, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Regular monitoring is essential.

Oral iron chelator that binds ferric iron and promotes its elimination from the body.

Store at room temperature.
