Uses

Used with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and hypersensitivity to components.

Genital infections, urinary tract infections, diarrhea, nausea, and volume depletion may occur.

Risk of lactic acidosis, ketoacidosis, dehydration, and serious infections requires monitoring.

Empagliflozin reduces renal glucose reabsorption while metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity.

Store at 20–25°C in a dry place.
