Uses
Used as an adjunct to general anesthesia, to facilitate tracheal intubation, and to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery or mechanical ventilation.
Do not use if
Contraindicated in patients with susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia, skeletal muscle myopathies, or hypersensitivity to the drug.
Side effects
May cause hyperkalemia, bradycardia, malignant hyperthermia, anaphylaxis, muscle pain, and serious cardiac arrhythmias.
Warnings
Can cause life-threatening hyperkalemia, cardiac arrest, and malignant hyperthermia. Use only with appropriate airway and monitoring facilities.
