Uses

Used for replacement therapy in hypothyroidism and for selected thyroid-related conditions.

Do not use if

Contraindicated in untreated thyrotoxicosis and certain uncorrected adrenal disorders.

Excessive dosing may cause palpitations, nervousness, weight loss, insomnia, and tremor.

Monitor thyroid function regularly and avoid inappropriate dose escalation.

Synthetic thyroid hormone that replaces endogenous thyroxine and normalizes metabolic activity.

Store at room temperature protected from moisture and light.
